Regulatory Investigations & Proceedings

I can assist clients in responding to information requests and search warrants, advise on the scope of regulators' powers to require production of information, attend interviews, and engage with regulators - all with the primary goal of achieving the best possible outcome, whether via a negotiated settlement or defending court proceedings.  I will also work with you to develop the best strategy to minimise commercial and reputational risk.

Aside from the FMA, I have previously acted for a number of other NZ regulators including the Commerce Commission on Fair Trading Act matters, WorkSafe on health and safety matters, the Registrar of Companies (MBIE), as well as a number of others. In advising private clients, I deploy the skill and experience gained from acting for those regulators to best protect your rights and interests. With in‑depth knowledge of the legal framework and clear, practical advice, I can help you get the best possible result.
